  • What Happens:
    Our Label Patina Experts i.e., independent and anonymous watch experts, conduct anonymous visits to your business. They evaluate:

    • Product authenticity and condition accuracy

    • Service quality and communication

    • Return/warranty policy adherence

    • Overall professionalism

    Timeline: 2-4 weeks (includes visit scheduling, on-site evaluation, and detailed assessment)

  • Peer Accountability:
    To maintain network integrity, new merchants must be referred by two existing Label Patina-certified merchants. This peer endorsement ensures:

    • Community trust and standards

    • Shared values and business ethics

    • Natural network growth of qualified professionals

    Timeline: 1-2 weeks (pending referral verification)

  • Upon successful completion, you receive:
    ✓ Official Label Patina certification
    ✓ Listing in our certified merchant directory

    ✓ Option to purchase Label Patina Essentials incl. Label Patina Marketing Essentials and Customer Leads (see “Services For Merchants” section)

How to Apply?

Whether we discovered you or you discovered us, the path to certification begins the same way.

Start Your Application

    • Independent second-hand luxury watch merchants, authorized dealers who also trade pre-owned watches, and established online watch retailers. You must have a verifiable business history and at least two certified merchant referrals.

    • Typically 4-8 weeks from application submission to final certification, depending on mystery shopping availability and referral verification.

    • We provide feedback on certification status. More detailed feedback on areas of improvement is available as a service offering (Audit & Advisory). You can reapply after 6 months once you've addressed concerns.

    • No. We certify both brick-and-mortar shops and online-only retailers, provided they meet our standards.

    • Yes. We conduct regular re-evaluations and periodic evaluations to maintain network quality. Significant customer complaints, policy violations, or failure to meet our standards can result in certification suspension or revocation.

    • We don't mandate specific brands. We evaluate authenticity verification practices, service quality, and business ethics regardless of brand focus.

    • You're listed in our certified merchant directory and benefit from your dedicated merchant page. You can then purchase premium Label Patina services (see “OUR SERVICES” page).

    • No. Certification is based on merit. All reputable merchants in the market are evaluated for Label Patina certification regardless of whether they've applied. However, to access premium Label Patina services, you must become an active participant in the Label Patina network.
